Educational Qualification : 
(i) a Master's Degree in Chemistry obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government; or
(ii) a degree in Food Technology, Diary Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agriculture Science, Veterinary Science, Bio- Chemistry, Microbiology or Medicine obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government : Provided that no person who has any financial interest in the manufacture import or sale of any article of food shall be appointed as a Food Safety Officer.
(c) posses the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in, the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment(General) Rules, 1967; and
(d) posses adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Pay Scale : Rs.40,800/- Fix Pay

Age Limit :  
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 37 years

Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government guidelines:
- General Category Female Candidates: 5 Years (Max age 42)
- Reserved Category Male Candidates (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS): 5 Years (Max age 42)
